Asakusa district 2-Hour free walking tour

Hi! Welcome to one of our favorite walks: a 2-hour stroll through

Asakusa with a native Japanese local guide.

I'm Manabu, founder of Tokyo Genki Tours. I'm a Tokyoite who, after

studying in Australia and traveling through the Americas, came back

with a fresh love for my own country. I started Tokyo Genki Tours

to share that love with curious travelers, and built a small team

of fellow Japanese guides who feel the same way.

Whichever of us you walk with, you'll get the same thing: a Japanese
guide showing you Asakusa the way we'd show it to a friend.

On this walk we'll explore Asakusa together. We'll see the iconic

Kaminarimon Gate, wander Nakamise Shopping Street, visit the

peaceful grounds of Senso-ji Temple, and end with a quiet riverside

walk along Sumida Park.

But we won't just look at landmarks. We'll talk about what they mean

to us as Japanese people. The little customs that locals follow without

thinking. Why monks chant at dawn. The small alleys most tourists walk

right past.

This is Asakusa told from the inside, by people who grew up with this

culture.

Hi, I'm Manabu. Born and raised in Japan, with a love for sharing it. I founded Tokyo Genki Tours to walk Tokyo with travelers the way I'd walk it with a friend. No scripts. No tourist traps. Just real stories from real locals. "Genki" (元気) means energetic, lively, in good spirits. That's what every tour should feel like. After studying in Australia and traveling through the Americas, I came home with a fresh appreciation for Tokyo. So I started building a small team of fellow Japanese locals who share it. We currently walk Asakusa, with more neighborhoods on the way. Let's walk together.
