Tour description

We will meet in the Plaza de Cervantes in Santiago de Compostela . Do you want to discover all the secrets of Galician gastronomy? You are in the right place!

During the tour, in addition to learning everything about the gastronomic influences of Galician food as well as the importance of raw materials in local cuisine , we will visit some of the most beautiful viewpoints in the area, such as the church of San Pedro or Belvis Church .

We will walk towards the Urban Gardens , a perfect place to discover the cultivation of some of the essential foods in Galician food. Nearby, we will stop at the Arco de Mazarelos , in the old town of Santiago de Compostela. Located in one of the most famous tapas areas of the city, we can see the traditional medieval taverns and centuries-old houses.

We will continue through the old area towards the Plaza de la Universidad , where the favorite pintxos of students and many Compostela residents are. Nearby we will find one of the most important gastronomic points in Santiago, the Mercado de Abastos .

At the Mercado de Abastos , our last stop, we will whet our appetites with the stalls selling fresh fish, fruits, vegetables, sweets ...

Our visit will end at this point after two hours of travel, but for those of you who cannot resist succumbing to the delicious enxebre food , You can stay for lunch at the market on your own.

Not included: drink and food (approximate indicative price per person €15)

She knew a lot about food , places, history & told in a very professional and practial way avoiding those big explanations that some guides on the free tour do. She explained well but not with thise never ending speeches. Interesting stry also about some important characters of santiago. Its worth to do this tour with maria cruz! I recommend!
