Berlin has always been a refuge for queer people around the world and the LGBT-community has shaped the city in substantial ways. Berlin as we know it, would not exist without queer people.
A history full of freedom, courage and progress, but also marked by discrimination, repression and persecution.
Discover how Berlin became one of the most important queer cities in the world. In the queer district of "Nollendorfkiez" we will visit some of the original locations and important spots for the LGBT community of today.
You will encounter: the roaring 1920s, transgender sex workers, lesbian activists, gay Nazis, and much much more.
Start: subway station "Nollendorfplatz"
End: close to Wittenbergplatz subway station
