At Estación México, we believe that discovering a city begins with walking and allowing yourself to be surprised by what it holds in its memory. Our project is designed to offer tours that reveal the hidden wonders of each place. Based on the principle of reciprocity, we enthusiastically share our knowledge, joy, and personality to convey the best stories and myths that safeguard centuries of heritage. We love walking with you while recounting the most significant moments of the local culture, those that bring its streets, plazas, and traditions to life. Estación México is not a travel agency; it is a community created to share a love for the history and cultural richness of each city.

In this free tour, we will explore the city, getting to know its colorful streets, colonial architecture, and inexhaustible cultural life.

We will start at the Zócalo, the quintessential meeting point and stage for Oaxacan social and political life. Very close by, we will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of the Assumption, built with the emblematic green quarry stone that distinguishes Oaxaca and considered one of the most important jewels of its religious heritage.

Later, we will arrive at the San Pablo Cultural Center dedicated to the conservation of local heritage. We will continue to the Macedonio Alcalá Theater, a reference for Oaxacan performing arts, recognized for its elegant art nouveau style and for being the stage where Mario Moreno “Cantinflas” debuted. Then we will visit the Temple of Santo Domingo, with its golden interior and impressive architecture, it is the emblem par excellence internationally recognized as a jewel of Mexican heritage.

Before continuing, we will visit the Oaxaca Graphic Arts Institute, created by Francisco Toledo, an ideal place to get closer to the art and cultural life of the city. We will also make a stop at the Carmen Alto Temple, closely linked to the tradition of the Guelaguetza.
