🏡 Inside a Khiva Family Home: Traditions, Tea & Hospitality
Tour description
Hello 👋 everybody
My name is Farhod, a local guide who lives inside the old town. I know every part of my town and every person.
Most tours in Khiva show you mosques, madrasas, and minarets. But what is life really like for the people who live here today?
On this unique experience, I will welcome you to my family house in Khiva to discover the traditions, culture, and hospitality of everyday Uzbek life.
My family- my parents, 2 brothers and sister in law, my nephew
👉 What we will do:
- 🏠 Explore a local family house: See the traditional house, rooms, and architecture.
- ☕ Tea & local snacks: Taste green tea, bread (non) and sweets.
- 👨👩👧 Family traditions: Learn about Uzbek customs of hospitality, weddings, celebrations, and daily routines.
- 🗣️ Stories of Khiva life: I will share personal family stories, childhood memories, and how life is changing in our city today.
This is not a museum or luxury restaurant – it’s an authentic look into the life of an ordinary Khiva family.
🎟️ No entrance ticket required
Free tours do not have a set price, instead, each person gives the guru at the end the amount they consider appropriate (amounts usually range from €15 to $50 depending on satisfaction with the tour).
If you want to do museums tour to go inside, PLEASE book my other tour on the same website.
The meeting point is the SULTAN restaurant next to the tallest Minater Islam khoja in the center of the old town
