Chongqing’s 8D City: Hongyadong, Sky Bridges & Hidden Streets
The tour lasts 2 hours and 15 minutes
Available in English
Description
See Chongqing beyond the famous skyline and understand how this extraordinary vertical city really works.
Led by a licensed local English-speaking guide, this walking tour combines Chongqing’s essential landmarks with local stories, hidden viewpoints, and the everyday life behind the city’s futuristic appearance.
We begin at Jiefangbei, the historic and commercial heart of central Chongqing, before exploring:
People’s Liberation Monument – discover how this landmark became a symbol of modern Chongqing.
Kuixing Tower – experience the city’s surprising multi-level design and famous sky bridge.
Hongyadong – see the riverside architecture that created one of Chongqing’s most recognizable views.
Chaotianmen and Raffles City – enjoy panoramic views near the meeting point of the Yangtze and Jialing Rivers.
Along the way, you will learn why Chongqing is built in layers, how local people navigate the city, and how its history, rivers, mountains, and rapid development shaped the Chongqing you see today.
I will also show you good photo spots and share practical recommendations for authentic local food, additional attractions, and the rest of your stay.
This is not simply a walk between attractions. It is an introduction to Chongqing through the eyes of a local.
Duration: approximately 2 hours 15 minutes. The pace may vary slightly depending on the group, weather, and photo stops.
Meeting point: Apple Store, Jiefangbei.
Ending point: Chaotianmen, close to restaurants, cafés, shops, and the metro.

Guiding since 2025PRO
Ni Hao! I’m Elias, a licensed English-speaking tour guide born and raised in Chongqing.
For me, guiding isn’t just about showing famous landmarks—it’s about helping you understand why Chongqing is one of the most fascinating cities in the world.
Rather than giving you a long history lecture, I prefer sharing local stories, everyday life, hidden viewpoints, and practical travel tips that help you experience the city like a local.
I love meeting travelers from different countries, and many guests tell me the tour feels more like exploring the city with a local friend than following a traditional guide.
Besides the walking tour, I’m always happy to recommend authentic restaurants, local cafés, nightlife, transportation tips, and ideas for the rest of your trip in China.
Whether it’s your first day in Chongqing or your first time visiting China, my goal is simple:
to help you leave with a better understanding of the city—and plenty of great memories and photos.
Looking forward to meeting you in Chongqing!
