- All visitors must pass through airport-style security. The security and ticket check are mandatory and no one can skip it, during high season due to the crowds this process could take more than 15 minutes.
- Baptistery mosaic vault is going under restoration
- Cathedral is closed due to the mass on Sundays and during Christian Holidays - sometimes it can be closed without prior notice.
- Shoulder and knees must be covered during the tour
- You will climb 463 steps to reach the top of the Duomo. There is no elevator.
