Discover the authentic, peaceful Tuscan countryside on this private walking tour, followed by a wine-tasting experience.
Follow scenic paths through vineyards, olive groves, and rolling hills. Learn the story of Chianti Classico and how it evolved from a simple everyday wine for farmers and ordinary people into one of the world's most celebrated wines. Enjoy breathtaking views and authentic local hospitality with a real Italian family. Taste several excellent Chianti Classico wines paired with delicious local food.
Our journey begins in the center of Florence, where we take a public bus to Chianti together. The ride takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes and follows the famous Via Chiantigiana, one of Tuscany's most beautiful roads.
Along the way, enjoy views of vineyards, olive groves, cypress trees, and rolling hills. Traveling by local bus is also a great opportunity to experience everyday life in Tuscany. If you prefer, we can also take a taxi to Greve in Chianti instead of the bus.
Once we arrive in Greve in Chianti, we will explore its charming historic center and discover some interesting stories about the town. After a coffee and breakfast break at a traditional local café, we begin our walk through the Tuscan countryside.
The walking route is approximately 5.5 kilometers (3.4 miles) long. This is not a difficult walk, but the area is hilly, so you should feel comfortable walking uphill and downhill.
Along the way, we will enjoy spectacular vineyard landscapes, panoramic viewpoints, and one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy. You will learn about local traditions, Tuscan cuisine, the Sangiovese grape, and the fascinating history of Chianti Classico.
During the walk, we will visit one of the most beautiful medieval villages in Italy. Walk through its narrow stone streets and enjoy its peaceful atmosphere. It is a place where you can easily imagine how people lived centuries ago.
Our destination is a family-run winery, where you will meet the owners and experience genuine Italian hospitality. Learn how the family's grandfather started producing wine and how this passion has been passed down through generations.
During the tasting, you will enjoy three wines, including Chianti Classico, Chianti Classico Riserva, and a Super Tuscan, accompanied by generous portions of local cheeses, prosciutto, bruschetta, and other Tuscan specialties. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let me know in advance.
At the end of our walking tour, we will visit one of the town's historic treasures, and lets you discover Tuscany's rich culinary traditions.
On this private walking tour in Chianti, there are no large groups and no rush—just you and Tuscany. It is designed for travelers who want to slow down, connect with nature, hear authentic stories, and discover the real Tuscany beyond the tourist crowds.
