Board the boat at Cais da Estiva in the Ribeira of Porto. Then, sail into the Douro Valley, passing the vineyards of one of Europe’s earliest demarcated wine regions. Continue past Quintas to the Crestuma-Lever Dam just in time for lunch. The arrival in Gaia is around 17:30 to 18:00. With a full stomach, sail further along the Douro River to the Carrapatelo Dam, cross the "wine capital" at Régua, and return to Porto by bus at around 20:00.
