Embark on a captivating day trip that includes visits to Windsor Castle, Stonehenge, and the historic city of Bath along with its renowned Roman baths, all starting from London.
Day Trip Overview
Your journey will commence from central London at the scheduled departure time as you board a comfortable coach destined for the iconic Windsor Castle, located less than an hour away.
Nestled in a prime location, Windsor Castle boasts a renowned round tower reaching 65.5 meters. The extensive garden surrounding it adds to its majesty. As you explore the Royal Palace, you’ll understand why it is the Queen’s preferred residence. This tour includes visits to various opulently decorated rooms featuring masterful artworks, and you'll have the opportunity to stop by St George’s Chapel. A standout attraction is Queen Mary’s dollhouse, crafted by over 1,500 artisans, which included modern luxuries like hot water and electricity.
Your adventure will then proceed to the enchanting Salisbury Plains, home to Stonehenge, an extraordinary megalithic site that has existed for approximately 5,000 years. This awe-inspiring formation consists of massive stones weighing 40 tons each, and the origins and purposes of this site remain a captivating enigma.
Next, the coach will head towards the splendid city of Bath, situated along the banks of the River Avon. Here, you’ll have leisure time to uncover the charms of Bath, the first city in the United Kingdom recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights include the 15th-century Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge, frequently likened to Florence’s iconic Ponte Vecchio.
Additionally, don’t miss the chance to visit the remarkable Roman Baths, known for the natural thermal springs that gave the city its name. These hot springs are the only ones of their kind in the UK. As part of your visit, you’ll experience the opportunity to taste Bath's healing waters. In winter, the Roman Baths offer a unique visit by torchlight, an experience not available during summer months.
Your enriching tour will finish with a return to central London after approximately 10.5 to 11 hours.
