Just got back from a free walking tour in Delhi and honestly—highly recommend. Our guide, Raj, was an absolute gem. Super chill, super knowledgeable, and just had that local vibe that made the whole thing feel less like a tour and more like hanging out with a friend who knows all the secret spots. What I loved most was that it wasn’t rushed. Raj let us kind of set the pace, and he was always down to stop, answer questions, or take a detour if something caught someone’s eye. No pushy sales pitch at the end, no “now go to my cousin’s shop” vibe. Just good energy and genuine love for the city. Amazing! If you’re in Delhi and wanna experience it beyond the tourist checklist, hit up Raj. Wear comfy shoes, bring an open mind, and enjoy. 10/10 would do again.
Raj‘s tour was a private tour for me as no one else signed up, but that seems to be quite common. I had a fantastic tour through old and New Delhi, skipping the monuments but instead visiting places where real locals life. The visit of the Sikh temple was incredibly inspiring and I also loved seeing the different markets. We had great food in a side street restaurant as well as a morning tea. He shared both the stories of Delhi as well as his private journey through life. Thank you Raj for this exceptional tour. This is the true spirit of such a walking tour and I am glad they continue to exist with you. PS: take some small amounts of Rupees with you for tuk tuk rides.
