We had a great tour with Mustapha today. He enabled us to experience things we would not have otherwise done. His car was cool and comfortable. The first activity was camel riding which was much better than we expected it to be. First we had the tea ceremony and ate biscuits and then we dressed up in kaftans and scarves before getting on the camels and being led around a sandy, stoney shrubland for about 30 minutes. The Berber camel keepers were good fun whilst still making you feel safe as well as taking some fantastic pictures with our phones. The camels all seemed well cared for. Then we set off to our next place with Mustapha explaining the history of the area and stopping now and again at some great view points so we could take photos. Next stop was the Women's Cooperative of Argan Oil where we had a demonstration and a chance to buy some goods. At no time was it a hard sell or did we feel obligated. They gave us mint tea and bread and olives as a breakfast (included in the price). Next stop was Inmil village where we parked up and trekked first to the waterfall through woodland which was cool and shady but the paths were steep and rocky so not suitable if you have mobility issues but well worth it if not. At the falls we were given freshly squeezed orange juice (included in the price). We then continued on to Mustapha's family home where we had a meal made by his mother of chicken tagline, couscous and fresh was delicious and so much of it. We felt privileged to be allowed such a personal insight into a Berber home. We then took the winding roads back through the valley to Marrakesh arriving back at 7 o'clock. We had a great day and the price is good value for money as everything we did, ate and drank was included. Mustapha gave as an authentic experience as he is not just a was able to share with us his heritage and lifestyle which we were so interested to learn about. The tour would not have been as good done by anybody else who did not have the background knowledge that Mustapha did. Book him, you won't regret it. Tldr; Authentic, interesting, good value.
Smail gave us a great tour. He is very knowledgeable about the history of Marrakesh and made it very interesting. We weaved our way through the narrow streets and showed us places we would have just walked by without venturing in if it wasn't for him. He allowed us to go at our pace and take photos if we wanted to. He also pointed out some places for us to return to in the evening at a later date. We would definitely recommend him as he goes above and beyond to make it an enjoyable experience.
