I really enjoyed Simona and her enthusiasm for showing the group the quieter side of Venice. She gave us a lot of history, interesting tidbits, and food recommendations. She was very professional and managed our large group well. I liked that we always stopped in shady areas to give us longer explanations.
Fabulous tour with Simona.. it really helped our holiday get off to a great start. Would absolutely recommend doing the walk as a great introduction to Venice

Simona was an engaging and entertaining tour guide who made the tour both informative and enjoyable. She spoke at a brisk pace to cover a wealth of historical facts and insights within the allotted time, and she was always willing to answer questions from the group. However, I was disappointed to learn that she intentionally avoided discussing the history of the Jewish community in Venice, particularly its experiences during the Holocaust, despite the fact that reminders of this history can still be seen today, including memorial markers embedded in front of some Venetian homes. She explained that her decision was influenced by the current political climate. While I respect that this can be a sensitive topic, I believe that historical facts should be presented objectively and discussed regardless of contemporary political circumstances. Once I realized that this important aspect of Venice's history was being omitted, it became difficult for me to fully engage with the rest of the tour's content.
Simona was excellent! I would highly recommend her tour. We walked for 2 hrs- and she shared so much interesting information with us. She was entertaining AND knowledgeable. We really enjoyed it. Oh, and a small detail, she would stop in not-crowded-plazas to tell us about the history. I appreciated this because I could fully focus on what I was learning instead of “moving out of the way” for others to pass. Small detail, but I’ve been on tours where that wasn’t the case and it was very distracting and took away from the learning.
