David was just great! He has a great knowledge about KL and its specific details that you actually feel part of the city very quickly, he gets you food to try, he knows everybody and you can feel he gives his best every time. I recommend his tour 1000 times !!
Han shared so much valuable and exciting pieces of history and contemporary facts and stories of Malaysian life, yet kept it in a well-rounded, understandable framework. Highly recommended!
The tour covers a small area but was dense with sights and history of the Chinese immigrants who now call KL home. Han was an excellent and knowledgeable guide whose pride in his childhood neighborhood shows. I highly recommend this for those interested in culture and history.
We joined this free walking tour with high expectations, but the overall experience was mixed. Our guide shared several personal stories and even took us along part of his usual morning routine. We stopped at a café where he encouraged us to try certain items, which we eventually paid for, and he also made a couple of personal stops to buy water and a newspaper. While some moments felt intimate and gave us insight into his life, the approach came across as rather unprofessional. The tour itself covered only a short distance and included just a few points of interest. The guide also insisted on taking photos of us, which felt unnecessary. At the beginning, he mentioned that we would be the only two participants. I expressed some discomfort about this, and although he reassured us it would be fine, it still felt a bit awkward. At the end of the tour, we offered a tip that reflected our budget and the quality of the experience. However, the guide insisted that it was not enough because he needed to pay GuruWalk. Even after my husband explained several times that we couldn’t give more, he continued to pressure us, holding out his hand and repeating the same message. Only once he received an amount he found acceptable did he let the situation end. This final interaction was very unpleasant and overshadowed an already average tour. I hope this feedback helps improve future experiences for other travelers.
