Up to now I have only done great free walking tours around the world. But this tour in Fez was really bad. First of all, it was - even with Google Maps - impossible to find the Meeting Point. The only good thing about the guide was that she picked us up nearby. 95 % of the time we were walking through the streets. We hardly got any information. Even my travel guide (lonely planet) was more helpful than the real guide. Furthermore, we were asked which places we want to see in Fez, which was really strange because we booked the tour to get to know Fez. She hasn‘t planned any route before. Furthermore, she touched us several times on our armes - this is a NO-GO! She should improve her English skills. When we asked her a question, her answer had nothing to do with our question. Last but not least she got really angry since I only tipped her 10 € for this (bad) tour. Don‘t book it! (That‘s actually my only bad experience with a free walking tour)
Unfortunately Fouzia never confirmed the meeting spot nor did she communicate to us in any way. We could therefore not do the walk.
We booked the tour with Fouzia around 9am the same morning as the tour should begin at 11am. But since the it was possible to book it, we thought the tour would happen, even with the late booking time. The meeting point was set to be behind the gates of the Lycée Moulay Idriss, where only muslims can go. Therefore, it was a bit confusing at start. However, we waited in front of the gates, but Fouzia never showed up there and never texted us back. It might have been the wrong place, but then the meeting point should be better described.
It was only me in the tour!! In the itinerary says that we will visit the palace which we didn’t and I asked if we will and she replied that it’s not near us! At the end of the tour I give her 10€ and instead of a thank you she asked for more!!
