I’ve been on Guru walks all over the world and this tour is an easy favorite! I learned so much about the history of Santa Ana and El Salvador. It was amazing having a tour with a true local- we got to hear his stories about growing up in El Salvador. What was meant to me a quick tour turned into an entire evening with new friends!

I had a wonderful experience at the tour with Castor. He grew up in the city and provided a truly honest image of the city and it's history. He therefore knows the best local places to get a snack, ice cream, dive into the culture or go for a game of pool :p. This is really not your average walking tour, pointing out the pretty buildings. It's a tour to really understand the historical context in a way that ChatGPT can absolutely not make up for you. Long story short: book this tour, bring your walking shoes and your genuine interest and ofcourse; respect the locals ;).
this was truly a one of a kind tour, i gained so much perspective about life in el salvador. castor was an incredible guide, and absolutely exceeded all expectations. he was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating to all of our needs. i would recommend this experience to anyone visiting santa ana who is looking for the true local experience. gracias a castor y bush!
Definitely a very different tour from what we are used to. Nelson is a very cool, chill and amicable guy with lots of local knowledge... He showed us the neighborhood that he grew up in and we had a very intimate and open talk about all the stuff that happened here in El Salvador in the last 20 years. We even ended up going to a bar together and playing pool (with the local rules of course) 😉 If you are looking for something different and unique, Nelson is your guy!
