Nelson was honestly amazing! I learnt so much about things I actually find interesting and he was able to give us a real understanding of the neighbourhood from someone who has spent their life here. It wasn’t anything like some of the stale walks I’ve done before and I feel really lucky we booked with Nelson because we got exactly what we wanted! 10/10 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I would recommend this walking tour to every person passing through El Salvador. Castor walked us through his local neighbourhood where he grew up and taught us the history of the town and the country as a whole. He showed us the best places to eat local food. As we were walking through the town, we did some foraging. Castor showed us the different types of fruit from the trees and would open the plants and show us the different fruits and nuts and inside. We went to a pupusaria and made our own pupusas with a lovely woman called Maria! Castor is all about giving back to the community and you can really see that on the walking tour. The tour ended in a bar where we played pool and Castor beat us all! I thoroughly enjoyed my experience. The tour gave me enriching insights into day-to-day living of El Salvadorians, and perspective giving history of the culture and the country. You won’t regret booking this tour!
I usually don't like walking tours but this was amazing! So varied, fun and interesting. Lots of info on local trees, local history, games, food, etc. Really really recommend :) it's not the standard tour just visiting a monument you would visit independently.
