Embarking on a guided walk through Soweto proved to be a truely enriching experience, offering a genuine perspective of life within the townships and informal settlements. Led by knowledgeable guides Nkuli and Thabo, this excursion provided not only a historical narrative but also a heartfelt connection to the community.
I was met with warmth and hospitality and Nkuli and Thabo's passion for sharing the rich history and culture of their home was palpable. What set this guided walk apart was the personal touch and commitment to community upliftment. Nkuli's project in Kliptown, where proceeds from the tours support a daycare for local children, exemplifies this dedication. Witnessing firsthand the positive impact of tourism revenue on grassroots initiatives reinforced the importance of responsible travel.
Throughout the tour, safety was never a concern. Beyond the educational aspect, this guided walk through Soweto is a must-do for anyone seeking authentic cultural immersion and a deeper understanding of South Africa's complex history. Highly recommended!

We spent the afternoon in Soweto with this very friendly guide, the community welcomed us in a very positive way, it was an incredible experience. We walked around the city and visited several places in Soweto. We felt safe in all the areas the guide took us to. It's a trip that's worth it. Thank you very much ❤️

Nkuli is absolutely awesome! We spent 4 hours with him, we asked him a million questions (poor him! ;) and he thoroughly replied to all of them with care and patience.
He gave us so much of info about south African history, culture and contemporary lifestyle. We are very happy to have found him and I really recommend this walk through Soweto with him, it's an absolute must during your stay in Joburg! Thanks Nkuli!
