Hi, my name is Meder, founder of Modern Nomad — and together with my team of local guides, we are here to make your time in Bishkek meaningful and memorable.
I work as a part-time lecturer at Ala-Too International University in the Faculty of Medicine. Before teaching, I worked in the field of addiction recovery, which gave me a deep interest in human behavior, culture, and meaningful conversations — values that shape the way we host our tours.
Our team is passionate about sharing the real Kyrgyzstan — not only its famous landmarks, but also its culture, traditions, mentality, and everyday life. We offer authentic local experiences and insider perspectives to help travelers understand what makes our country unique.
Adventure is also an important part of who we are. From city walks in Bishkek to mountain hikes and cultural journeys across Kyrgyzstan, our guides are ready to tailor each experience to your interests and pace.
Our mission at Modern Nomad is simple: to connect people through culture, stories, and genuine human connection. We would be happy to welcome you and help you experience Kyrgyzstan in a warm, authentic, and unforgettable way.
We were super happy with our guide. She was so nice and professional, explained a lot and created a really safe and warm feeling surrounding. The tour was super special to come in contact with a real nomand person studying in Bishkek, so authentic, kind, open minded and interested in other cultures. Super clever young women! Thank you for the time to introduce you to your country!
Meder was an excellent guide. He explained the history of Kyrgyzstan really well, and was able to tell us how this history has shaped modern day Kyrgyzstan. I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to Bishkek.
Awesome guide ! Very interesting tour discovering the nomad culture from Kyrgyzstan and the different influences they have
I enjoyed the tour with Meder. He explained the life of Kyrgyz people on a deep level. He made interesting connections between the nomad Kyrgyz life, religion and modern life and also the differences between the capitalism and (soviet) communism. He is an interesting person. I recommend the tour if you really want to get some new perspectives and things to think about. If you are just looking for historical facts, the museum might be better.
Insightful philosophical tour. Highly recommended!
