Our grouptour ended up as a private tour due to no other bookings. However, this did not mean a lesser experience! We really enjoyed the tour Lamiae gave us! She could tell a lot about the city and showed us all the nice spots, very happy to have had her as our guide! Would really recommend :)
Abdol was a great tour guide. He was very knowledgeable and knew the heart of the Medina in and out. He was very respectful and professional. I was really surprised with the tour and definitely recommend it to others. We were two girls and going into the Medina felt safe with him. He was very patient and took us to places we wanted to see as well. He helped us buy and get a fair price on the items we wanted. If I ever come back to Fez I will contact him again for sure. He was also very accommodating with our timing because my sister got sick and we couldn’t make the tour in the morning, he was attentive to us and met us later in the day. We really appreciated that as well. If it’s your first time in the Fez Medina you defined need to go with a guide (Abdol) or you will get lost and overwhelmed. Thanks once again!! You have made our trip memorable. :)
Youssef is a kind person and easy to talk to. We booked a walking tour but since there were no more people we ended up doing a private tour at an agreed price. The tour was okay. We hoped for more sights and monuments and less comercial stops. Youssef understood that and after 1/2 shops he changed his route. We were just hoping for a little more in terms of cultural and general facts about the city and the country. Good tour if you wanna see the people making the goods you want to buy.
From start to finish it was a wonderful tour. We got to see lots of local crafts being made and of course had opportunities to purchase items, but I didn't feel pressured to buy something at every stop. (I would have loved to do so, however.). Speaking of history, I enjoyed his descriptions of various buildings and his explanations of local folklore. He found a perfect place for lunch and we'd asked for something more simple that the first place he'd suggested. The 2nd restaurant was wonderful - instead of a menu, the waiter brought out samples of the various dishes they were serving that day and we ordered based on what tasted best to us (chicken tajine). That was a great concept! I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but I'm sure he will know if you want to try it. He is a great guide. He even had a friend of his make a cake for my traveling friend's birthday!
