Francisco did a nice tour and provided us with details about the Portuguese history, politics and culture. He took us to some not so touristy corners and paths other walking tours probably would not cover. Francisco showed a lot of interest in the participants of the tour, so we had creat chats and got the feeling we could also ask some more detailed questions about Portugal.
He’s a true local, very familiar with the sights, sounds and tastes. Loved the custard tart straight out of the oven. Fascinated by these university troubadors. Enjoyed Francisco’s stories and super generous tips and tricks before and after our tour. He also accomodate a new time to avoid a potential downpour
Francisco (Chico) was amazing so knowledgeable and fun, sharing great facts about the city and treating us to delicious pastel de nata, he also offered us cherry liqueur, but it was still early for us, but it was so thoughtful of him. He also gave fantastic recommendations, so I’d definitely suggest doing this tour on your first day. If you only have time for one tour in Lisbon, choose this one! I’ve taken several GuruWalk tours across different countries, and this one with Francisco truly stood out. From the moment we started, it felt less like a tour and more like catching up with an old friend you haven’t seen in a while. He has this amazing ability to make everyone feel comfortable and included. Francisco is incredibly knowledgeable about Lisbon, but what makes him special is how he shares that knowledge—always engaging, never overwhelming, and filled with great stories. His restaurant tips were spot-on, his humor kept us smiling, and the time just flew by. My kids even mentioned how much they enjoyed him, which says a lot!
