We only have one thing to say about Andres’ tour: and that is to TAKE IT!! As two young travelers on our first ever trip to Portugal, Andres was incredible— charismatic, knowledgeable, at ease, and overall just a great guy! The two hours seemed to fly by, and by the time we had reached the end of the tour we weren’t ready for it to be over. You may be used to monotony and rapid-fire history facts from your guides, but Andres was far from your typical guru. Combining personal experience and extensive historical and cultural knowledge of the city, Andres’ two hour tour felt like an inside look into Porto life and culture. And if that wasn’t enough, he gave us a fantastic recommendation for francesinha in a small restaurant, which just happened to have a vegetarian option for one of us so we were both able to enjoy the classic dish!! This tour was the highlight of our criminally short trip. Please give this guy your time and money, he deserves it so much and you won’t find a better tour with anyone else!! Thank you Andres 🙏❣️🇵🇹
Make sure you have cash! At the beginning of the tour, the guide told us that the typical tip is 20 per person (in my experience it was not worth that much), and when my friends and I went to withdraw cash at the end the guide was very rude and hostile, forcing 2 people to stay so we don't leave without paying. The tour was fine and informative, but the paying aspect was a big downside. I would recommend the tour for its material, but if you are looking for a free walking tour, this is not the one.
