I really like the passionate way Igor tells the stories of the city and the university – few names and dates, but many interesting historical legends, facts, details of student life, and local tips. Starting the tour with a visit to the beautiful botanical garden is a great idea.
Igor was a fantastic guide! He took us to many places including the University of Coimbra, several churches, downtown and the beautiful gardens. We learned a lot of history and interesting information about Coimbra. His style was relaxed and professional. We really enjoyed this tour with Igor!
I booked last minute to do this solo as my husband hurt his knee, so we had to cancel our original plans. I was surprised to be the only person on the tour - it was a bit strange to start, but Igor and I soon got into a good rhythm of walking and talking. He's a nice guy with good English who has obviously loves Coimbra and has a lot of stories about the city's history - as well as some about more current events. I enjoyed the (downhill!) walk, got to see parts of Coimbra I hadn't yet had the chance to explore, and learnt some stories to regale my husband with! Recommended.
Very passionate about the city and all the hidden mysteries! We really felt part of Coimbra and it's history. He is a super guide!!
