GIO gave us an unforgettable experience! If you’re looking for a deep dive into Santa Ana history and El Salvadorean culture - definitely take this tour. From being extremely friendly, engaging, and keeping it fresh/entertaining, to showing us A LOT of good eats, and (maybe my favorite part) not shying away from difficult topics on recent history, Gio gave us a glimpse into the beauty and strength of the El Salvadorean people. We left with our bellies full, and our hearts even fuller lol 😂. Big shout out to Gio. I promise you won’t regret taking this tour.

I had a great time on my food tour of Santa Ana with Gio! He is very knowledgeable on the history of both Santa Ana and El Salvador! The group really enjoyed all of the food we were able to try throughout the tour! Things I wouldn’t have thought to eat on my own. I highly recommend the tour!

Amazing tour in Santa Ana with delicious and SO MUCH food ~ genuinely do not eat anything before because you are going to eat more food than you know what to do with! All absolutely delicious and Gio does a great job of discussing difficult and nuanced topics. You get to see a lot of cool parts of the city and try truly incredible food

If you’re visiting Santa Ana, don’t miss Gio’s walking tour. He has a rare talent for adapting the tour to the interests and questions of the group, making every stop feel engaging and relevant rather than scripted. What impressed me most was how he connected the city’s history with the latest developments in El Salvador, always explaining them from a local perspective while presenting different viewpoints instead of just one narrative. His balanced approach encouraged thoughtful discussion and gave me a much deeper understanding of the country. On top of that, Gio is incredibly helpful with recommendations for activities, food, transportation, and anything else you might need during your stay in Santa Ana. I honestly feel like I wouldn’t have truly experienced Santa Ana without taking his tour. Highly recommended!

Gios tour was super fun, with lots of delicious food to try. As a vegetarian I couldn't try the main lunch dishes, but there was still a lot to try and I definitely didn't leave hungry. Thr tour was generally more focussed on food than seeing a lot of the city, but Gio was very open to all questions about the city and El Salvadors history.

I really loved this tour. Gio is very knowledgeable on the city and the history of El Salvador. He is very passionate and a bit of a goofball at times. He took us to a lot of places with great food options and really gave me a great sense of the city.

Gio hat uns einen einmaligen Einblick in das Leben und die (jüngere) Geschichte gegeben. Er ist wunderbar darauf eingegangen, dass wir großes Interesse an den geschichtlichen und politischen Entwicklungen gezeigt haben und hat äußerst spannend und sehr kurzweilig erzählt und alle unsere Fragen beantwortet. Kulinarisch wurden wir mit super leckeren lokalem Streetfood verwöhnt. Wer Santa Ana besucht, sollte unbedingt die Tour mit Gio buchen!!

Gio was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Santa ana. We collected food at many points of the tour to eat at the end and they were all amazing! I was so glad to get someone to teach us the food here so we can know what to look out for when we see it. He was very helpful when it came to suggestions for gift buying too

Gio’s Santa Ana walking tour is an absolute amazing experience! He brought this city to life in ways I never expected. We started at the main square, where he unpacked the history From there the tour took some fascinating turns: the city’s witchcraft traditions, the complex gang history that shaped Santa Ana’s neighborhoods, all told with honesty and nuance, and my favorite part, the food!! We hit the market vendors and chilled in a local cafe where we are crispy tostadas, fresh fruit loaded with chili and lime, and more… Gio knows exactly where to take you and when. If you want a tour that’s equal parts history, culture, and serious eating, book Gio. One of the best few hours I’ve spent traveling.

Definitely the best tour guide in Santa Ana without any hesitation. Gio has an incredibly wide knowledge about his country. He told us the most interesting things and took us to the most authentic places. The walking tour is also a food experience, we tried amazing dishes. We laughed a lot and had the most amazing time with him. Can’t recommend enough. Thank you so much Gio!

Gio hat von Anfang an alle in die Gruppe integriert, auch die "etwas" älteren wie uns. 😊 Seine Berichte aus der jüngeren Geschichte El Salvadors waren sehr lebendig und authentisch und haben den Blick auf Land und Leute erweitert. Gio hat an verschiedenen Orten Essen eingekauft. Die Auswahl war hervorragend. Alles hat lecker geschmeckt und war mehr als ausreichend. Beim gemeinsamen Essen im Café haben wir nochmal interessante Infos über Leben und Esskultur in El Salvador bekommen. Alles in allem eine sehr entspannte Tour, die wir absolut empfehlen können - auch für ü50.👍

Spontaneously booked this tour and I’m happy I chose this one! Had a lovely walk around the town and ate amazing food and learned about the history and anecdotes and the recent change of the country. Such a positive too that the people who were on my tour continued to travel Santa Ana and surrounding with me for the following days - so a great way to meet people with this tour. Gio is so enthusiastic and makes everyone have a nice time. We even extended the tour to all go grab a beer (optional). Overall, good start to my trip.

Gio was an excellent guide, telling stories and anecdotes about how terrible the violence was in the country and the recent transformation in the country. We also talked about religion, witchcraft, love, earthquakes, and about jokes and music. Then we ate a lot. I learned so much, and definetely i recommend having this experience with Gio!

I had an amazing experience on the street food and walking tour with Gio as our guide. From the very beginning, he made everything feel authentic, fun, and super well organized. It wasn’t just a food tour — it felt like a real cultural experience where you get to know the local vibe, history, and hidden spots. Gio is incredibly knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and brings great energy to the whole experience. He took us to places I would’ve never found on my own, and every food stop was absolutely delicious. You can really tell he loves what he does and genuinely wants people to have an unforgettable time. Honestly one of the best tours I’ve ever done. If you get the chance to do a tour with Gio, don’t even think twice — highly recommended.
