A journey through time:
Join me in the former center of the Holy Roman Empire of the German Nation. We walk where powerful emperors were elected and crowned, and visit the place considered the cradle of German democracy. It is a journey to the traces of those who shaped our history: from visionary poets and thinkers to brave democrats.
What awaits you:
We dive deep into the era when Frankfurt was the political center of the Holy Roman Empire. For over 400 years, German emperors were elected and crowned here. We walk along the historic coronation path and experience the leap from the imperial era to the birth of German democracy.
Our tour highlights:
- Römerberg: The historic town hall and centerpiece of the old town.
- Kaisersaal: Where the splendid coronation banquets once took place.
- New Old Town & Hühnermarkt: An architectural jewel of reconstruction and modernity.
- House to the Golden Scales: One of the most magnificent half-timbered houses in the city.
- St. Bartholomew's Cathedral: The monumental site of the imperial elections.
- Saalgasse: A colorful mix of bold, modern postmodernism.
- House Wertheym: The only half-timbered house in the old town that survived the war.
- Iron Bridge: The most famous photo spot for the view of the skyline.
- St. Paul's Church: The symbol of freedom and the first German National Assembly.
