Welcome to the London of 1888, and the terrifying reign of Jack the Ripper!

Join me on this walk through Whitechapel where the vicious murders of these unfortunate women took place.  This was a notorious Victorian slum where the poorest lived, and danger was present around every corner.

This is a unique journey which is not for the faint-hearted, and you will be introduced to graphic accounts, testimonies, rumours and photos from this dark time in London's history.

Highlights include:

  • murder sites including Mitre Square
  • the Prostitute's Church
  • a gaslit Victorian alley where prostitutes lived and worked
  • Spitalfields Market
  • theories and conspiracies discussed en route
  • a chance for a drink in The Ten Bells, a pub used by the women...and maybe Jack himself!


Discover:

  • the many suspects accused
  • why the killer was never caught
  • why there were two murders on one night


There is a bonus stop at the beginning of the tour, as we encounter an historic execution site!

The tour ends outside Christ Church Spitalfields, 5 minutes from Liverpool Street Station.

I have previously been on Gary’s other tours of London. The Jack The Ripper tour was amazing.Gary’s in-depth knowledge and history is related by him in a professional and theatrical manner. As someone who taught history, I certainly learned a lot on this particular tour, and others I’ve been on. I can highly recommend Gary if you want a fun, educational evening…….Also as a bonus we get to visit great old London Pubs….Fantastic..!

The best way to discover every hidden part of London is to have Gary as a Guru. His Jack the Ripper tour has been really terrific. I strongly recommend it to everybody

Our Jack the Ripper tour was excellent. Our Guru Gary really set the scene, creating a spooky atmosphere as we went along, and you could picture things as they used to be in those dark alleys. Gary was very knowledgeable, which made it very interesting, especially finding areas of London we hadn't seen before.
