Amazing experience! Sean was extremely knowledgeable and made the tour a fun experience. I recommend doing it on the first day in Porto because Sean has great recommendations. Another advice, trying every food suggested by him :)

Porto Morsi e Chiacchiere al Mercato di Bolhão (Riparato dalla Pioggia e dal Sole)

Sean was an incredible guide! He was so knowledgable and took time to answer all of our questions in detail. We would have never experienced the market like this on our own! Highly recommend!

It would have been helpful for the advertisement to note that we would be paying for the tastings at the various stalls. We understand the need to pay, but we would have been prepared with small denomination cash.

Porto Morsi e Chiacchiere al Mercato di Bolhão (Riparato dalla Pioggia e dal Sole)

Sean was honestly the best GuruWalk guide I've ever had! The whole tour was entirely about food, and he was super energetic, cheerful, and really passionate about it. He knows all the local vendors at Mercado do Bolhão so well, which meant we got special little portions and treats to try from them. He shared so many interesting facts and stories, and it was just an awesome experience from start to finish. Highly recommend him to everyone!

In our travels, we have joined many walking tours, and we have visited many produce markets, but my husband and I both agree that this tour was one of the best experiences of both that we have had. Our guide Sean was professional, enthusiastic and passionate about his subject. He did not just accompany us around the stalls, he explained in detail the history and architecture of the building itself; the food traditions of the Portuguese people and how these evolved; and explained the unique qualities of the food on offer that make the products so special. We were able to sample whichever items we fancied (at our own cost), and we tasted a variety of local products including seafood, sardines, cheeses, ham and of course, the famous Portuguese tarts. At the end of the tour, Sean sat with us for some time to give us more recommendations for other sights, places of interest and restaurants. Eight out of five stars for this tour. Highly recommended

Porto Morsi e Chiacchiere al Mercato di Bolhão (Riparato dalla Pioggia e dal Sole)

The walking food tour of Bolhão Market was one of my highlight in Porto, especially how deeply knowledgeable my guide, Sean, was about the market's heritage. Learning about the origins of the vendors and the history of Porto’s culinary traditions added so much value to the tasting experience. The food selections were fantastic, and the wine pairings were thoughtfully chosen and clearly explained. Thank you for a memorable highlight of my trip!

Super informative and enjoyable tour with Sean at the food market. We covered many things about the culture, history and tastes of the region. Got to try all kinds of local foods, many you wouldn't know to try without a guide. Highly recommended as a way to start your Porto journey. Must do in Porto.

Great food tour with Sean, he was proactive in messaging before the tour with details of where to meet. Extremely friendly and welcoming with lots of banter as the title says 🙂 The tour itself was great around Bolhão Market. We stopped at numerous Portuguese stalls wine, cheese, seafood, meats, desert and many more. He was great at navigating the bust market and getting spots to explain the food and the stall with detail. All three of us enjoyed to tour and would recommend to anyone visiting Porto. Thanks Sean!

I had a great tour with Sean, he is very knowledgeable and passionate about the area and the history. It was a lovely small group and I was accommodated as a vegetarian, which is not always easy with traditional food! Brilliant tour, definitely recommend!

Porto Morsi e Chiacchiere al Mercato di Bolhão (Riparato dalla Pioggia e dal Sole)

Sean went above and beyond! I ended up being the only person who showed up for the tour, and he still gave me the full experience with the same enthusiasm, attention, and professionalism. Sean explained the history, culture, and food traditions in such an engaging and easy-to-understand way. You can tell he truly knows and loves the city. The tour was very well organized, relaxed, informative, and fun. Sean answered every question with patience and gave great local insights and recommendations. I learned a lot while enjoying amazing Portuguese food along the way. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Porto. Thank you so much, Sean!

Blown away by how fantastic the experience was. Sean is an amazing host - great mix of funny, knowledgeable, and overall just great to be around. The food was incredible and as other reviews mention he had special deals with some of the vendors so we felt we had the perfect amount to eat for breakfast/lunch. There was only 5 of us plus Sean today (the other 2 groups have already left great reviews!) and it felt intimate and friendly and overall was just a great group dynamic. Absolutely the highlight of our time in Porto! -Finn
