Neighbourhood Eats: Brownstone Brooklyn Food Tour

Brooklyn’s Smith and Court Streets, along with the nearby neighborhoods, are home to a mix of small, locally owned, and artisanal food shops. On this food tour, a local guide will take you to some of these spots and share how they started and what makes them stand out. You’ll try a variety of foods—from Italian and Middle Eastern to New American—by visiting both long-time neighborhood staples and newer restaurants. The tour includes stops at bread shops, Italian pastry stores, coffee roasters, and what’s said to be the oldest Middle Eastern bakery in New York City. The shops and food in this area have been featured in the press and on TV all around the world, from Australia to France. As you explore, you’ll also learn about the area’s history, how the neighborhood is changing, and the challenges small businesses face today. The tour highlights the importance of supporting these local spots.

Please note food options, portion sizes, and stops will vary depending on the season and where we stop that day, but the total amount of food included will be equal to a full meal.
