Description

See the works of Britain’s renowned painters, J.M.W. Turner and John Constable. Turner, born in 1775, and Constable, born in 1776, used landscape art to reflect the changing world. Their rivalry was marked by distinct styles. Turner focused on vivid sunsets and scenes from his travels. Constable preferred familiar landscapes, pursuing a natural portrayal of nature. Their differing approaches were often seen as a clash of 'fire and water.' This exhibition showcases their works side by side, just as in their own time. Curated by Amy Concannon and Nicole Cochrane, experts in historic British art.
