Poland has a large number of interesting places, perfect for a tourist break or a few days' holiday. The beautiful city of Poznan in the region of Wielkopolska is a clear example; a town of great beauty next to the Varta River that due to its location in the west of the country - between Warsaw and Berlin - has always been one of the most famous university centres in this part of Europe.

Today this town has a great attraction for visitors who are looking to discover a tourist destination of great interest, with a varied and rich heritage, a great atmosphere and an interesting cultural and gastronomic offer, with dishes as recommended as "Pyry z gzi kiem" or potatoes with cottage cheese, the "Plyndze" which is a type of traditional cake, or the famous "Szagówki" gnocchi, which combines flour and potatoes. Other points of great interest are the Cathedral Basilica of St. Peter and St. Paul, the Imperial Castle - the residence of William II - or some of its recommended churches such as St. Stanislaus or the Virgin Mary. Other important points if you have more time are the Adam Mickiewicz University and the Monument to the June, in honor to the workers' protests against the Russian communism.
