A must do tour if you want to try local cuisines that you may not be aware of. Eduardo gives great historical info about the area, gives a great selection of foods and can give recommendations for other activities while you're visiting. I will do this tour again and will recommend to anyone traveling to the city.

We had a great time. The guide explained a lot about the history of Rio and Barra in particular. The dishes he ordered also came with history and great taste! The visit to the island was also really cool because we got to see another side of Rio. Price for food+boat approx. 100BRL per person, bring credit card for food and little cash for boat

The tour was amazing and very entertaining with a lot of history to learn. I can only recommend this tour. Very underrated and patient. Food selection is also amazing from the tour. You will definitely see Rio in a different view! Don’t miss this tour.

Very enjoyable evening with Eduardo and the group .. lots of local food to taste and lots of stories and historical context from our Eduardo .. we even went island hopping on the Barra Marapendi lagoon .. make sure to have some cash for Eduardo as he doesn’t take cards

From slaves and the real story of feijoia to a queen's role in the emergence of Brazil's favourite drink, Eduardo tells it all with verve and humour. And of course, there's the delicious food itself. Despite us being late (listen to the advice about the traffic!) Eduardo did the whole tour just for us - the food was great, the history was really interesting with a lot of side stories delivered in a really engaging way, and my favourite part was the trip to the island.

Eduardo is humorous and an excellent storyteller. I truly appreciated his passion for exploring both the local stories and the bigger picture of the city. He helped me discover Barra from a completely different perspective, and in many ways, his storytelling felt like Barra’s own story coming to life. He not only shared what happened historically, but also used a thoughtful, critical approach to help me understand what has shaped Brazil and Barra into what they are today. Of course, he also introduced me to some unique local cuisine, which I thoroughly enjoyed. I highly recommend his tour, especially for those who are genuinely passionate about learning more about Brazil.

Eduardo was kind enough to wait for us as traffics was very congested. He gave us a history lesson to begin with and then we made our way through Barre Beach area to delicious food samples at various restaurants. My favorite drink was caipirinha passion fruit fruit and strawberry. I highly recommend Eduardo as he is very assistant knowledgeable about Brazil. Five stars!

Edwardo was an excellent tour guide. His knowledge and history of Brazil was amazing. Each stop on the food tour was a new surprise and yummy. We got to experience new foods we wouldn’t have tried by ourselves.

Eduardo is an excellent guide with great knowledge. He took us to very interesting places that were different from what we had seen so far in Rio. The explanations were clear and engaging, and he also introduced us to delicious local food we hadn’t tried before. The tour lasted about four hours, and we enjoyed every moment

This is not your ordinary tour. You go and learn about places that go beyond Ipanema and Copacabana. Also the last part on the island is great! Eduardo is very knowledgeable and has a nice way of sharing the history.

Эдуардо невероятно образованный, начитанный, артистичный гид. Тур построен на посещении двух ресторанов и прекрасного кондитерского отдела, а также небольшого аутентичного острова, на который перебираешься на кораблике. Эдуардо очень интересно рассказывает об истории блюд, напитков и вообще об истории Рио и Бразилии. Объем его знаний поражает, он антрополог и прекрасно разбирается в культурах разных народов, мы попробовали более 10 национальных блюд разных эпох и узнали очень много интересного. Рекомендую этот тур для тех, кто не хочет или дополняет обычные экскурсии по городу. Спасибо Эдуардо!

Eduardo was an amazing tour guide. He was extremely knowledgeable about Barra da Tijuca and the Gigóia Islands and the food was incredible. I left stuffed and with a happy heart. I loved that he injected pieces of history in every stop and was open to answering questions. Thanks again Eduardo and I hope to see you again, maybe next tour in Lisaboa!

Our guide was very knowledgeable in history and food. He took us to try delicious Brazilian dishes and told us a lot of historic events connected to how the dishes originated how this neighborhood was born. I would highly recommended this tour and visit to Baja neighborhood.
