In this guided tour we will understand the great importance of the Guadalquivir River for the development and growth of the city, in addition to the entire monumental surroundings of the river: the Roman Bridge or Old Bridge for its 20 centuries of antiquity; the Torre de Calahorra , designed to protect the entrance to the bridge; and the Puerta del Puente, one of the only three that remain today.
Around the bridge we will see the Triumph of San Rafael , where we will tell you why the people of Cordoba are so devoted to the Archangel Rafael, and the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba , its most famous monument and one of the most visited in Spain.
We will also discover other magical corners, such as the narrowest street in Córdoba , whose width sometimes does not exceed 50 cm; the first female monastery after the Christian conquest or the house that won the first prize in the Bars and Balconies contest, related to the Patios Festival .
Our Essential Córdoba Free Tour ends by walking through the most characteristic squares of the city, such as the small Plaza del Potro , the Plaza de las Cañas and the Plaza de la Corredera , the only major quadrangular square in Andalusia.
