On this guided tour we will understand the great importance of the Guadalquivir River for the development and growth of the city, as well as the entire monumental environment of the river: the Roman Bridge or Old Bridge due to its 20 centuries of antiquity; the Calahorra Tower , designed to protect the entrance to the bridge; and the Puerta del Puente, one of the only three that are preserved today.
In the surroundings of the bridge we will see the Triumph of San Rafael , where we will tell you why the people of Cordoba are so devoted to the Archangel Raphael, and the Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba , its most famous monument and one of the most visited in Spain.
We will also discover other magical corners, such as the narrowest street in Córdoba , whose width sometimes does not exceed 50 cm; the first female monastery after the Christian conquest or the house that won the first prize in the Rejas y Balcones competition, related to the Festival de Patios .
Our Essential Córdoba Free Tour ends with a stroll through the city's most characteristic squares, such as the small Plaza del Potro , the Plaza de las Cañas and the Plaza de la Corredera , the only quadrangular main square in Andalusia.
