Hi everyone! My name is Josué and I'm an Official Tour Guide from the city of Linares (Jaén). I have a full tourism formation and experience achieved during the last 10 years, working as an entertainer and tour guide. I truly love to share with people experiences as well as to show around different places, spots and landmarks that belong to my own land where all my roots start. I am Josué and I welcome you to this charming city in the region of La Loma, located in the heart of the province of Jaén .
In this fantastic tour you will have the opportunity to discover how Baeza , declared a World Heritage City by UNESCO in 2003, became one of the greatest references of the Spanish Renaissance of the 16th century thanks to the patronage exercised by some of the most important noble families that settled in this city and that contributed to beautify each corner with lavish constructions such as the Jabalquinto Palace , public infrastructures with clear Castilian reminiscences such as the Plaza del Pópulo or the Paseo de la Constitución that show us the great economic boom that It reached the city at this time with the intervention of such important architects as the architect Andrés de Vandelvira , in charge of the Renaissance restoration of the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Nativity, located in the heart of the historic center.
This tour will consist of the following stops:
- Paseo de la Constitución 1 (Fountain of the Constitution, Alhóndiga).
- Tower of the Aliatares.
- Barbican (Old Granary).
- Old University of Baeza (University and Arco del Barbudo).
- Plaza de la Santa Cruz (Church of the Holy Cross and Palace of Jabalquinto).
- Plaza de Sta. María (Cathedral, Upper Town Halls, Fountain of Sta. María and San Felipe Neri Seminary).
- Alleys of the Cathedral (Puerta del Perdón).
- Walk of the Walls (Viewpoint of the Valley of the Guadalquivir).
- Plaza del Pópulo (Fountain of the Lions, Old Butchers, Civil Court and Notaries, Arch of Villalar and Puerta de Jaén).
- Paseo de la Constitución 2 (Lower Town Halls and Fuente del Triunfo).
IMPORTANT: For the tour to take place, it will be necessary for 4 walkers to attend it. If the agreed minimum is not reached, it will be canceled at most one hour before the start of the event.
