Coliseum and the Imperial Rome free walking tour
Tour description
One of the seven wonders of the ancient world: the colosseum. This tour is a trip in ancient Rome. Rome is an open-air museum so it is not always necessary to pay a ticket, the ruins live together with the Romans. We will visit from outside the colosseum, then we will walk together the streets of the imperial forums that divide a giant archaeological area in two. On one side, we will find the ruins of the Roman forum, public area of the Rome of the republic, on the other side you will see the ruins of the imperial forums built by the emperors of Rome. At the end we will climb the Capitoline Hill, an ancient hill where the Romans located the most important temple: the temple of Jupiter. Hill that today houses the old city hall of Rome projected by Michelangelo in 1500.
