On this tour through Malasaña, I will tell you about the origin of the neighborhood that witnessed the birth of the Madrid movement and was a witness to the uprising against the Napoleonic troops in 1808. A route where I will explain the reasons behind the street names and the secrets this wonderful neighborhood hides. We start at Teatro Lara, a classic century-old venue, passing through the Plaza de San Ildefonso, to the oldest businesses. We will walk through the streets that saw this neighborhood come to life (Corredera Alta de San Pablo), vintage shops (Velarde), and where the Madrid movement originated. The interesting history of Plaza del 2 de Mayo and the surrounding streets.
