Hello, I am Pedro and I have a degree in tourism, I have been working professionally and uninterruptedly as an official tour guide in Murcia (Spain) for 15 years. My objective has been and is to foster and promote the rich cultural heritage of Murcia. For this I have collaborated with cultural institutions such as the Salzillo Museum, the Roman Theater Foundation and City Halls among others. I am passionate about history and art and for me it is a satisfaction and pride to be able to show the rich historical and cultural heritage of a city that overlooks the Mediterranean for more than 3000 years, where the different civilizations that have come to she have left monumental testimonies in each of its streets and squares
In this guided tour of the historic center of Murcia we will visit the main streets and squares of the city and learn about its history through its main monuments.
We will start the route in the Plaza Cardenal Belluga where we can admire the impressive Baroque façade of the Cathedral. We will take a tour of the interior to see the most outstanding places of the Cathedral such as La Capilla de los Vélez.
We will continue the tour in the Church of San Juan de Dios where you can admire several images carved by the famous Murcian sculptor Francisco Salzillo.
Strolling along Calle Trapería we will be surprised by the spectacular Arab courtyard of the Real Casino de Murcia , after breathing the atmosphere of the city in the Plazas de Santo Domingo and the Teatro Romea we will enter one of the most magical places in Murcia, the cloistered convent from Santa Clara La Real where we can admire the impressive Arab courtyard built by the Murcian emirs at the time of splendor of Muslim culture in the city.
The route will end in the populous Plaza de las Flores , a favorite place for Murcians to go for an aperitif and enjoy the rich Murcian cuisine.
