Tour description

On this route through Jerez I will explain to you, in chronological order, its history through a guided tour of the most beautiful and important monuments of the city, while I tell you curious facts and historical figures. Sites to be visited:

  • Meeting point: Plaza Arenal.
  • First stop: Alcázar de Jerez and Alameda Vieja.
  • Second stop: Jerez Cathedral.
  • Third stop: Plaza de la Asunción and Iglesia de San Dionisio.
  • Fourth stop: Tour of the most historic center, passing by the stately homes and the four Christian pillars in the center: San Lucas, San Juan de los Caballeros, San Mateo and San Marcos.
  • Fifth stop: Visit to the Santiago neighborhood, its church, and explanation about its origin (flamenco).
  • Sixth stop: Tour of the wall along Calle Ancha y Porvera, and visit the cloisters of Santo Domingo.
  • Seventh stop: Tour of Calle Larga to visit the Gallo Azul and get to San Miguel, where the history of the neighborhood (flamenco) and its Church will be explained.
  • Eighth stop and end of the tour: Finish the route at the Ermita de Guía, passing through the Puerta del Arroyo and observing the two most emblematic wineries in Jerez (González Byass and Domecq).
