Tour description
Discover the two most famous areas in Lisbon! Beginning in one of the most iconic places of Lisbon, the cultural hub of Portuguese poets and artists, our guide will explain the history of Chiado and interesting stories of the famous literary figures of Portuguese history. Chiado is also one of the newest neighborhoods of Lisbon as it was almost completely destroyed in the 1755 earthquake and is now the most cosmopolitan and affluent areas of the city. You will then walk the streets of the Barrio Alto, a quiet and charming neighborhood during the day, which turns lively as soon as the sun goes down. The Barrio Alto is probably best known for its vibrant nightlife, however, our expert guides will also explain the history and development of this up-and-coming area! You will also pass by Bica and wander its steep streets, (where you can take the all-important postcard-perfect yellow tram photograph!), before ending the tour at the Miradouro de Santa Catarina. Let us show you why the Barrio Alto and Chiado are the capital’s hot-spots!
