Indispensable Zaragoza Free Tour: Old Town
Welcome to Zaragoza! We are ZaragozaTours, a young local company born by the banks of the Ebro river. In our tours our intention is to make you a participant of the history, art, culture and life of this city. We invite you to enjoy Zaragoza and its most spectacular cultural sites with the help of our tour guides. However, we won't stop at the surface, we will go further in order to unravel all Zaragoza's secrets in an entertaining and educational way.
Tour description
Discover the capital of the Ebro river and its more than 2000 years of history, art, culture and traditions. On this tour you will be able to enjoy not only its most important monuments but also all its secrets through an interactive visit.
You will discover the ancient past of Caesaraugusta, the Roman colony, and also the different cultures that inhabited the Islamic Saraqusta and its heritage: Mudejar art, a World Heritage Site. We will walk through its traditional streets and we will cross "El Tubo" an essential gastronomic tapas area next to baroque churches and remains of the 19th century avant-garde modernist Zaragoza. Obviously, we will admire Zaragoza's two great jewels, located in the same square, the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar and the Cathedral of San Salvador also known as La Seo.
Knowing a city, however, goes beyond seeing its monuments, that's why we will get to know some hidden corners and spaces in order to learn about their stories, legends, life, and in general, their people.
Most important points of interest that we will visit:
- Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar
- Cathedral of San Salvador or La Seo
- Roman theatre of Caesaraugusta
- "El Tubo": Gastronomic area
- Two Mudejar churches: San Gil and Magdalena
- "La Lonja"
