Tour description

TOURS GO ON A DAILY BASIS ALL YEAR LONG! NO NEED TO FOR FURTHER CONFIRMATION.
We invite you to join us to explore Buda Castle Hill, the city’s most beautiful and historic district that dates back to the 13th century, and learn more about the world - famous Matthias Church, Fisherman’s Bastion, Royal Palace, and other notable architectural icons.

You’ll also learn about the various periods of history which influenced this neighborhood and the transformation of this picturesque neighborhood while walking along the cobblestone lanes, twisting alleys, and secret gardens from the Civic part to the Royal part of the Castle District listed on the UNESCO World Heritage List of Sights.

Buda Castle Hill walk can not be complete without the whole world's underground cave system that goes back hundreds of thousands of years with roles including wine storage, the hospital in the rock, and shelter during World War II.

Major sights we are passing by:

  • Matthias Church
  • Fisherman’s Bastion
  • Maria Magdalena church ruins
  • Buda Castle Promenade
  • Jewish Medieval Praying House
  • Dominican Monastery ruins
  • Royal Palace area with Matthias Courtyard

Our leisurely walk in the Castle District will be a warmly remembered experience.

Joining our tour has loads of benefits. Ask for our personal Budapest map, our Budapest newsletter with free outdoor activities, do's and dont's, must see places with opening hours, and much much more. At the end of our tours, we do not run away.  You have plenty of time to ask questions and make the most out of your travel experience!

Apart from the cold inclement weather on the day, the tour was professional and enjoyable for those who wanted to know the buildings in the Buda castle area, plus a succinct simplified history synopsis of the Hungarian nation. There was an excellent turnout, coping with the rain, the stairs and the construction site ambiance as the government continues to renovate and refresh the historic buildings in the precinct

Great tour to learn the history of the Castle District. Lots of construction in the area. Remember the tour only visits the outside of the places listed. You will need to return to buy tickets forSt. Matthias and The Fisherman’s Bastion.
