Tour description

Mombasa has a long history dating back to the 2nd century AD Mombasa's most prosperous period was probably in the 15th century, when it was the largest and most sophisticated trading city on the coast. The coastal cities were controlled by Swahili and operated as independent principalities.
Around the year 1500, the people of Mombasa wore robes of gold and lived in beautiful multi-story houses richly decorated with bentwood.

Rich in a variety of cultures, the tour starts at Fort Jesus , an old building dating back to the 16th century, Mombasa Old Town dating back to the 2nd century, Slave Market ( today's Spice Market), Mama Ngina Boardwalk, Commonwealth Tombs War, Elephant Tusk and Swaminayaran Temple.

I was very happy with the tour. I was alone for the tour today, and Anthony was really easy and pleasant to chat with in between the the sightings. He also arranged for me to try the tuktuks when he heard that I hadn’t been in one before! I really enjoyed the old town and the vibrant colours, aswell as the spice market. Fort jesus was interesting, and definitely worth a visit.

We had a great tour with Antony, just by the two of us and him. He was very knowledgeable and we were also able to ask a lot of questions about Mombasa and African culture that he happily and profoundly answered. Will definitely recommend!

Ha sido muy instructivo. Ha estado hablando muy despacio y pronunciando cada palabra perfectamente pues mi inglés no es excesivamente bueno. Se lo agradezco.
