Juan, Bachelor of English Philology, Master in Humanities and Official Tourism Guide of Castilla y León (CL / 000769). Tireless traveler, “adopted” Segovian, lover of Art History and tireless global traveler, Castilian-Leon in particular. I am fascinated by Romanesque art, Civil Architecture and Sacred Art in particular. I love showing the city in which I live. Jose Javier, from Granada, José Javier Corral I learned sign language as an educator in a specific school for the deaf. This incipient interest led me to learn LSE (Spanish Sign Language), until I got the official qualification of sign language interpreter, including International and ASL (American Sign Language, in collaboration with Gallaudet University). My passion for art and history led me to become an official tour guide, a job that I have been developing for the last 20 years. I have also signed video clips and now, thanks to Guruwalk, I am the first free tour guide in Spain in sign language

Tour description

An opportunity, beyond the tourist one, to discover together and observe the corners, buildings and landscapes of Segovia, reading (perhaps listening?) what some writers (The Archpriest of Hita, Sta. Teresa de Jesús, San Juan de la Cruz, Miguel de Cervantes, Francisco de Quevedo, Antonio Machado and María Zambrano ) said about them.
Fleeing from the traditional tourist visit , although we visit the main monuments of Segovia, it is a pleasant and fun way to visit the city . The order that will be followed is not chronological, but that of a walk through the city with the help of universal writers, who spoke or lived in it. It is not a literature class, it is a unique opportunity (only offered in summer) to get to know the city from another point of view.
The tour starts at the Aqueduct and ends at the Puerta de Santiago (next to the Alcázar ).
We will visit :

  • The viewpoint of the Aqueduct
  • Real street
  • Jewry
  • Cathedral of Segovia
  • Canonjías neighborhood
  • Gate of Santiago

A perfect complement to our World Heritage route. Small groups, only available in summer.
