Hi, my name is Ben. I previously used to work in IT, but now I'm a full-time Tourist Guide! I'm a licensed professional tourist guide and I have guided thousands of people all around Malta. I'm also 100% Maltese, born & raised here. I love meeting new people and showing them around my country of Malta. I usually adapt to the audience, but I usually intersperse history, current Maltese culture, and what the Maltese people think & feel, together with recommendations for places to eat & drink (usually my favourite spots ;) ).

Tour description

Valletta is a must-see when in Malta. Besides being the capital city, it houses the majority of Malta's museums and cultural and historical sites. It also contains some of Malta's best bars & restaurants.

In the tour, I will give a historical overview of Valletta, including the buildings we come across. I'll also give a contemporary context for the buildings, as well as the Maltese people's beliefs and cultural attitudes to current and past events.

We'll also pass by some highly recommendable bars and restaurants. I will point out my favourites for Maltese food, and for food & drink in general.

Some of the sites we will see (however due to time constraints and other factors this list might change):

  • City Gate
  • Parliament
  • Hastings Garden
  • Royal Opera House
  • Castille Palace
  • Upper/Lower Barrakka Gardens
  • St. John's Co-Cathedral
  • St. George’s Square
  • Presidential/Grand Master's Palace
  • The Pub

A great experience! First time on a free tour. Thank you, Ben! Not only did he provide insightful information about Malta's/Valleta's history and culture, but mentioned interesting actual facts in a super funny way. The time flew by and we also got some great recommendations from him.

Ben is a fantastic guide. He can share information as a local and from living abroad, he also can see Malta from an international perspective. We learnt so much from him and had plenty of laughs!!

Ben’s insight and knowledge of Malta past and present made this tour absolutely fascinating. When visiting a place for the first time one needs to know key landmarks and routes, but we also like to try and understand how and why the current society and people arrived at this place in time. Ben covers all of the above with humour, good pace and fascinating insight. We were recommended by friends to attend Ben’s walking tour and we’d recommend him to others too.

Ben was a lovely guide: he took us in the principal places of La Valetta and told us a lot of stories, answering all of our questions. He is nice and very professional. Recommend! :)
