Tour description

Ok, you are already familiar with the most known downtown landmarks of Guadalajara… So, are you ready for more? Join me in this free 2h walk through Colonia Americana, the most vibrant district of the city, recognized by Time Out magazine as the “World’s Coolest Neighborhood 2022”.

On this tour, we’ll do a deep dive into the most representative monuments and picturesque “Porfiriato’s” (1900s) mansions, the MUSA ( Art Museum of the University of Guadalajara), its hidden corners, and secret stories; then you will understand why it is considered the most trendy spot in the city.

Our tour starts in front of the Ex Convento del Carmen Fountain, in downtown, and finishes at Chapultepec Avenue, the heart of the Colonia Americana.

Food and drinks, music and dance. All is set for a memorable time with friends and family walking around bars and international restaurants day or night. You may want to enjoy a morning stroll and breakfast, or you might be interested in having a fun night out. This neighborhood has it all.

Stops included in the tour:

  • Ex Convento del Carmen
  • Expiatorio Church
  • Art Museum of the University of Guadalajara
  • Americana’s Porfiriato Mansions
  • American Embassy
  • Plazoleta Libertad
  • Plazoleta Juárez

Walter is a very professional guide, even using a headset and portable speaker. He thoroughly explained all points of interest, injected humor at the right points and gave us recommendations for restaurants. Highly recommended.
