Tour description
Our tour seeks to welcome first-time and repeat visitors to the city.
Through a pleasant walk along its canals, markets and hidden places, we will travel back in time, understand how the so-called “Venice of the North” was created, its history and its architecture.
Full of anecdotes and curiosities, you will learn more about the culture and way of life of the Dutch, the food and where to have the best beers in the city.
The visit is not intended to be a boring history lesson, but rather to provide a pleasant experience, a mix of information and humor, to learn and enjoy this wonderful city.
The route includes:
- Dam Square : We will visit the historic heart of Amsterdam, with the Royal Palace, the Nieuwe Kerk and its vibrant atmosphere.
- Red Light District : We will explore one of the most emblematic areas of the city, with its history and curiosities.
- Nieuwmarkt : We will discover this lively square with its famous De Waag, an ancient medieval gate.
- Rembrandt House Museum : We will learn more about the life and work of the famous Dutch painter.
- Waterlooplein : We will visit this historic flea market and its importance in the city.
- Portuguese Synagogue : We will stop in front of this impressive 17th-century building to delve deeper into Jewish history in Amsterdam and its relationship to World War II.
- National Memorial in the Names of the Holocaust : We will reflect on historical memory at this moving memorial.
- Amstel River : We will end our tour along the river that gives the city its name, enjoying its views and unique atmosphere.
