Olá! I’m Sara — your local guide and storyteller in Lisbon! I’m a passionate tour guide with years of experience leading cultural, historical, and food tours across Portugal. Whether it’s uncovering the hidden stories of Lisbon’s oldest neighborhoods, sharing the secrets behind our most beloved dishes, or diving into our fascinating history — I love connecting with people from all over the world and making every walk feel like a shared adventure. With a background in communication and hospitality, I create engaging, fun, and informative tours — always with a personal touch. I believe the best tours feel like walking around with a knowledgeable friend — someone who loves their city and wants you to love it too. That’s exactly what I aim to offer in every experience. Come walk with me, and let’s discover Lisbon together — its history, its flavors, its soul.

Tour description

This isn’t your typical postcard-perfect Lisbon tour. Instead, we’ll peel back the pastel layers and sunny views to reveal the city’s hidden, darker past—where power, pain, and perseverance intertwine.

We’ll walk the cobbled streets of Baixa, trace the haunting echoes of the Lisbon Inquisition near Rossio Square, and uncover how slavery shaped the city we see today. We’ll pause where the 1755 earthquake turned Lisbon to ash, visit areas tied to witch hunts, torture chambers, and political oppression, and explore how the city rebuilt itself, physically and morally.

You’ll hear about:

• The chilling role of the Inquisition in Rossio

• Lisbon’s slave markets and the legacy of empire

• The 1755 earthquake and the theological crisis it caused

• Secret prisons and underground resistance

• Superstitions, executions, and forbidden stories

We’ll finish the tour in the Alfama district, where some of the oldest and most mysterious corners of the city remain. As the sun sets, you’ll leave with a deeper understanding of Lisbon, not just as a place of beauty, but of resilience and complexity.

Why Join?

If you’re curious, open-minded, and ready to explore the shadows that most guides skip, this tour is for you. I don’t just recite facts—I tell stories that breathe, question, and stay with you.
