Old Pamplona: history, tradition and confinement by the hand of a runner
Hello Walker! My name is Iñaki, a professional guide (registration number GA-4901) with a degree in history, from Pamplona with experience in Navarra, Scotland and Rome. As a fan of my city, I offer you to walk its streets, its different historical periods and learn about local traditions, to finally immerse yourself in the run of the bulls with the help of a runner. A pleasant, enriching and fun tour in which we will discover together the ins and outs and secrets that forged the old Pamplona.
Tour description
The capital of the old kingdom has stood proud for centuries and its streets keep secrets that only the true Pamplonicans know. Discover the first Basques who founded it, watch the arrival of the Roman legions, fight against the Franks and Visigoths, follow in the footsteps of the kings who established the kingdom of Navarre and the knights who defended it, listen to the echoes of wars and revolts, accompany Heminway in his excursions and outrages in San Fermin, and lastly, tie your red scarf around your neck, roll up your newspaper, adjust the laces of your shoes and... immerse yourself in the route of the running of the bulls hand in hand with a runner. Hear the clamor of the people, the rumor of the herd approaching, make your way, place yourself on the antlers, listen to the rumble of the hooves and the snorts of the horned ones behind you...! and retire after the race to make way for the other runners! You dare?
I wait for you in old Iruñea
