Tour description

Once you arrive Hanoi the capital of Vietnam you at least have to take a walk around the Old-Quarter because almost everything about Hanoi or further about the Northern Vietnam's lifestyle, culture, history is around here.

There is no better way to learn about Hanoi than walking with a local guide from Hanoi through every little alley, hundred years old temples, the oldest bridge, lively daily market or interesting railway coffee shop. I love my country and my capital city a lot and I want to show you around to let you know how interesting the people and the special traditions here, how glorious our history is and how beautiful the street is. I love to hear you say "Wow" when you see the train passing by, to watch you suddenly pick up your camera and take photos of our daily life activities, which is unique and you don't have in your country and to answer you any questions about the Vietnam war and about how quick we recovered and developed like today's.

    Ngọc Sơn Temple

The temple was built in early 19th century, originally dedicated to "Three Sages" Wenchang Dijun, Guan Yu and Lü Dongbin. At some point, the national hero, Trần Hưng Đạo, was incorporated into the temple. From the shore, Thê Húc Bridge (Cầu Thê Húc) leads to the islet. Buildings of the temple include the Tháp Bút ("tower of pen"), the Đài Nghiên (ink-slab), the Đắc Nguyệt ("moon contemplation pavilion") and the Đình Trấn Ba (pavilion against waves), all of which have symbolic meaning.

    Outside visit
    Nhà cổ

Located in Hanoi's Old Quarter area, Ma May Street is unique as it is home to many of the city’s oldest houses. The house at No.87 Ma May Street (Hoan Kiem District) is one of 14 ancient houses in Hanoi built in the late 19th century that still retains its original features and becomes a familiar address for those who want to learn about the daily life of Hanoians in the old time.

  • 3
    Outside visit
    Long Bien Bridge

Long Bien Bridge, is about 2km from Hoan Kiem Lake, with a history of over 100 years, is not only a traffic construction but also a meaningful historical and symbolic witness to the resilience of Hanoi during the two greatest resistance wars against the French colonialists and American imperialism as well as the dramatic changes of this city in the new era.

  • 4
    Outside visit
    Phố Hàng Mã

Known as one of the 36 old streets of Hanoi, Hang Ma Street holds a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike. From its fascinating past to its bustling present, Hang Ma Street captivates with its diverse offerings, vibrant celebrations, and an atmosphere that embodies the spirit of Vietnam's cultural heritage. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to visit this street during your Hanoi travel journey.

  • 5
    Outside visit
    Street Murals

Phung Hung Mural Street is a worthwhile attraction to add to your Hanoi travel plans. With magnificent displays of beautiful Hanoi street art, this attraction lets you appreciate culture in a way unlike any other. Here, you can grab some Instagram worthy photos with the street murals and take part in a variety of traditional activities in the heart of the capital.

    Outside visit
    Hanoi Train Street

Nestled in Hanoi’s Old Quarter, this narrow alley attracts travelers hoping to snap a picture on the active train track, and even catch a train whizz by! This alley is actually a residential area—many locals have converted their houses into quaint little cafes where you can sip on traditional egg coffee while waiting for the train to pass by—which happens a handful of times throughout the day. Be careful though, as the street can get really busy.

How much does this tour cost?

We were just two persons on the tour and Nhat adjusted the tour to all our wishes. He knows the city very well and we could see that he had a lot of experience with tourists. Nhat speaks English very well and had an answer to all our questions. I can 100% recommend to let him show you Hanoi!
