Tour description

We will begin the city's main square to take our transportation (not included, must be paid for each traveler) and begin the journey to Santa María Atzompa , a charming municipality near the center of Oaxaca, famous for its rich cultural heritage.
On this tour, I will take you to the workshop of the Zárate family, passionate artisans who will immerse you in the fascinating world of pottery. Here, you will learn the traditional techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation, interacting with the raw materials and tools that give life to these masterpieces.

Then, we will head to the local market, where you will have the opportunity to purchase authentic souvenirs at affordable prices, directly from the artisans themselves. I am sure that this experience will leave you delighted!

Get off the beaten path into a small village. We took a bus and a small taxi but you can choose the mode of transport that you’re comfortable with. As this is a “free tour” expect to pay for transportation. The family we visited was lovely and the coop had a ton of pottery. I wish I could bring it all home. I really enjoyed meeting my guide and learning about his family.
