Discover the essence of Cape Town
Tour description
Welcome to an immersive two-hour walking tour of Cape Towns historic CBD and colourful Bokaap! During this brief journey, we'll uncover some of the intriguing aspects that make this city so beautiful.
Our adventure begins near the Castle of Good Hope where we will talk about the diffrerent tribes that settled in the Cape Colony including the indeginous people of the Cape to whom the area was home to before European seafarers and explorers set foot on our shores. Our tour is about History and achitecture of Cape Town including our journey from Apartheid to Democracy. We will also visit the
Bo-kaap which today remains predominantly a Muslim neighborhood. This colourful and historic muslim enclave has a deep history that dates back to the 1760s and is the location of the oldest Mosque in South Africa and the birth place of Cape Malay cuisine. Cape Malay cuisine is an authentic cuisine influenced by Islamic traditional cooking and a mix of East African and South African flavours. A favourite treat here is the famous koesister. The bokaap is mosaic of colour and an instagrammers paradise. Join me on a time travel of history and colour as we together discover bokaap and modern Cape Town.
